A former University of Bristol medical student, Dr Alice James, has had data she collected as part of her Year 4 SSC project published in the British Medical Journal Open. Alice, who graduated in 2017, examined the food and drink offerings of NHS venues, and compared these to NICE Quality Standard 94 (QS94) guidance on childhood obesity. Alice found that hospitals were inconsistent in their compliance with QS94 and with the support of colleagues based in the NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre (Nutrition Theme), this paper was published in November 2017.
