The fifth Peninsula Emergency Medicine & Trauma Conference is being held at Plymouth University on 5-6th May 2018.
This conference is absolutely ideal for undergraduate and early career doctors, nurses, paramedics and physician associates with an interest in emergency, trauma, pre-hospital, expedition and global healthcare. In addition, the range of topics and simulation on offer makes it an ideal opportunity to consolidate knowledge of caring for acutely sick and injured patients. Compared to other events of a similar calibre, it represents outstanding value.
Highlights include:
- Don’t Survive- Thrive! Talks and interactive discussion exploring concepts of resilience and sustainable careers in EM and the acute specialties.
- Managing traumatic cardiac arrest. The legendary ‘how to’ by recent London HEMS physician Dr David Wise.
- International Perspectives on Emergency Care with a focus on EM in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
- Emergency & Acute Care in Extreme Environments including flight, altitude, ultra- sports and diving medicine.
- Spotting the Sick Child refresher on paediatrics emergency assessment
This year, there are two full afternoons devoted to simulation, moulage and clinical skills led by senior clinicians, with the help of human actors from the Casualties’ union. Weather permitting, we even have informal refreshments and networking planned for Saturday Evening!
PenEMTC is a non- profit conference run solely for the benefit of students and trainees. Our previous four conferences have received superb feedback. Weekend tickets including all of the above are currently available for a flat rate of only £36 using the discount code GOLDENHOUR10 – lunches and refreshments included! This makes it outstanding value.
